The West Texas Valley has long been a major birding destination. However, it's rural nature means there are significant travel times required to access these areas. The location I am offering is on private property that has been set up specifically as a photography ranch AND is only about an hour outside of San Antonio!

Here, there are green jays year round, one of the most sought after Texas species. This small spot in the southern Hill Country, is considered to be the very furthest northern region of the species' range. Beyond these colorful characters, the location is a prime spot to see migratory species, such as orioles, tanagers, buntings, and warblers as they pass through on their way further north; and Texas natives such as sparrows, thrushes, thrashers, woodpeckers, cardinals, and many others.

Ethical birding practices are in place to ensure the healthiest and stress free environment for the subjects. No raptors are baited in on the property and only high quality seed is used in small quantities to attract our subjects. Perches are offered of native vegetation and wood without compromising the plants or trees.
