Wander the Wasatch:
7-day photo adventure
October 1-7, 2023
Physical Demand: Challenging - Will be working at high altitudes with elevation over 9,000+ ft. At least one longer hike over uneven, sloped trails with tripping hazards of up to 2+ miles. Other hikes will be under a mile with similar footing conditions. Changing seasons can bring below freezing temperatures with snow and ice. Unpaved mountain roads can be aggravating to those with back/neck issues.
What could be better than autumn in the mountains? On this photo adventure we explore the Wasatch Mountains outside Salt Lake City, UT, during what is expected to be peak color. We will chase this color through the high elevation aspen forests and maple stands in Northern Utah. From snowcapped mountain peaks to grand vistas overlooking brilliantly colored forests, we will work throughout the Wasatch range each day, taking short hikes and working from roadside observation points to capture all the color texture, and beauty these mountainous forests have to offer.
With predawn hikes for sunrise, midmorning meanders for macro and creative lessons, and evening explorations for more great scenes this will be a jam-packed photo adventure!
